Dr. Albert Siu

 

Dr. Albert Siu is President of Gilead Learning (LLC), a consultancy specializes in the human resources and learning and development practices. He consults with public and private sector clients in developing and launching learning strategies and people development services. His practice focuses on addressing two key customer questions: How to get more value with spending less, and how to enhance leadership quality and workforce competitiveness.

 

Dr. Siu was the Chief Learning Officer for AT&T from 1996 to 2002.  In that role, Dr. Siu managed AT&T’s investments in learning and people development.  On an annual basis, AT&T invested millions of dollars in the training and development of its workforce.

Before joining AT&T in 1994, Dr. Siu spent sixteen years with Hewlett-Packard, serving in a variety of business unit and corporate human resources leadership roles; including eight years in China and Hong Kong managing the human resources function for Hewlett-Packard’s China operations.

Dr. Siu earned a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate from Purdue University, both in psychology. He is currently a Committee Chairman of the ThriVent Financial Services Corporation board of directors, a Fortune 300 company. He is actively involved in consulting with the public and private sector organizations in developing and launching e-learning strategies and related services. Dr. Siu was AT&T’s Corporate Representative to the United Nations Global Development Projects (1997-2000). He was AT&T’s Corporate liaison to Vice President Gore’s “Twenty-First Century Skills Leadership Group” (1999). He is a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) Public Policy Council and the Awards Strategy Committee. He served on the National Governor Association/ASTD Commission on Technology and Adult Learning (1999-2000). On behalf of the NGA/ASTD Commission, he testified before the Web-based Education Commission (2000) on the impact of e-learning in the workplace. He is on the Wharton School-University of Pennsylvania Executive Education Council. He is the founder of the China Personnel Club (1989) a professional networking organization for sharing effective personnel practices in PRC and Greater China.
